This site is embryonic. Pages will be added, removed and altered on a regular basis and the site may or may not ever be completely finished! I do not claim to be an 'authority' on Charlie Parker, but would like to think that the site will become authoritative with input from other Parkerites.

This is a not-for-profit site; meaning I do not currently, nor intend to make any money from this site (there has been enough profiteering from Charlie already!). I am also assuming that all photos of Bird are now in the public domain and that if I am using any photo that is not credited or sourced, then I do so out of ignorance. I will gladly source or credit any person or organisation necessary. Please contact me via the Contact section on the main menu

Ultimately, this site hopes to offer a concise and accurate account of Bird's life and work in order to correct much misinformation currently available in literature and on the internet. So if any 'facts' expressed here are incorrect, then I would greatly appreciate being corrected. Again, use the Contact area on the left menu.

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles by the Jay McShann band featuring Charlie Parker on alto, is the anthem of West Ham United Football Club, a team I have supported through highs and lows, (mostly lows) my whole life. Come on you Irons!!

(It is interesting to see the Barack Obama not only claims to be a Charlie Parker fan, but also claims to be a West Ham fan!! Vote for Barack!!)

The Post-Standard, Syracuse - March 13, 1955. One gig Bird would never make....

Daily Herald 13th July 1985. Still getting it wrong!"
